Community Art Exhibit award-winners named

On June 19, the London Visible Arts Guild (LVAG) handed out awards to contributors in the Modifying Horizons Group Show that wrapped up on June 6 at the London Artwork Middle.
Just before the Community Demonstrate was open up to the general public, LVAG invited London Mayor Patrick Closser to appear around the 56 entries and pick out the 1 that most effective reflected the show¡¯s title. Closser selected ¡°Dream Picture,¡± a submission by London resident Mike Munden, as the winner.
In the course of the Community Present, which ran May possibly 6-June 6, the general public was invited to vote for their favorites. The following are the People¡¯s Preference award winners:
- Photography¨CJo Ann Salyers for her photo titled, ¡°New Orleans Side Avenue.¡± Salyers is a London resident who travels all-around the United States as a safety inspector for tugboats.
- Combined Media¨CHilary Frambes for her portrait of rocker Eddie Van Halen. The Basic Metropolis artist employed 8-monitor tapes, acrylics, and spray paint to generate the collage.
- Hand Crafted Art¨CColleen Van Steene for her animal-themed sculpture titled, ¡°One Impacts the Other.¡± Van Steene life in Cedarville.
- Paintings and Drawings¨CJohnathon Mullins Kimbler for his acrylic portray titled ¡°Big Cow.¡± Mullins is a 2019 graduate of London Large Faculty.
The President¡¯s Youth Honoree Award went to Andrew Carter, a 2021 graduate of London Large Faculty, for his electronic graphite portrait of a tiger titled ¡°Fierce.¡±
Every single award winner received a certificate of appreciation, a $25 reward card, and a one particular-yr LVAG membership.
The awards had been introduced on June 19 during the opening reception for the London Art Center¡¯s present-day show, ¡°New Seasons/New Beginnings¡± that includes oil paintings of bouquets and landscapes by Kay Majka. The exhibit is LVAG¡¯s second present at the center since COVID-19 limitations were lifted.
Majka¡¯s exhibit will proceed by July 11. Art Heart hours are: Tuesday, 4-7 p.m. Thursday, 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. and Sunday 11 a.m.-2 p.m. The heart is located at 121 E. Initial St., London.
