nunya biznez: This is the first time I have heard either of these two men sing. The first time I heard this song was in the summer of 1970. My mom was a huge Simon & Garfunkel fan. My father had bought two tickets to the concert. But my father's funeral was a couple of days before the concert. My father's last words to me were "take your mom…" So Mom and me drove down to New York to hear Simon and Garfunkel live in concert. We were about 4 rows back. Some of the songs I'd heard before. Some I hadn't. This one I hadn't despite it being at the top of the charts for months. I wasn't much of a pop music fan being only ten. It was the perfect song for a ten year old boy to hear just after burying a father. It was a more perfect song for a wife to hear after burying her husband. That is the context I will always remember this song in. No performance will ever compare with that one of Garfunkel who seemed to be singing the song to us. At a later date I managed to get both their autographs on the cover of the album. Now all that said, there have been many artists who have covered this song and many did quite well, a few not as well. This duo is now among my favorites. \n\nThank you so much for posting!?
